What has Mace got for joggers?

There are small canisters with velcro straps that allow a firm grip on the canister without worry or dropping it while jogging. This gives you a sure fast way to defend yourself if attacked.

What is Mace?

Today Mace pepper spray is a good self-defense spray. Mace started out as a civilian tear gas. In stronger formulas, law officers used the noxious gas agent to stop riots and knock down would-be perps (and some rioting college students) to arrest them. The first industrial-strength tear gas products were designed for use by police but Mace now is a good self-defense product for people with pepper spray often in the formula.

Who uses Mace?

Ladies and female college students like and use Mace Pepper Spray but any college student, senior citizen or other person who needs a self-defense gear to help fend off aggressive attackers. Mace products in one form or another have stayed even with the new self-defense technologies we have today. Not much can beat a good pepper spray.

How does Mace affect a person on drugs?

Law Officers through first hand experience discovered someone high on drugs, fall down drunk, or just out of his mind, does not tend to feel pain. No pain means Mace, with only tear gas, will not work well. The bad guys have to feel pain to be affected by tear gas. This is why original Mace isn't perfect.

How does Mace work?

Mace with only tear gas, irritates the mucous membranes of eyes, nose and throat, causing tearing, running and pain. Exposure to tear gas may create headache, dizziness or tightness of chest. This could create a problem for average citizens if attacked when the Mace doesn't work. For police, it is not so bad because they have back up from guns and billy clubs. Normal people generally carry one self-defense product, so its failure may put them in danger of being injured or killed.

What did Mace do to solve the problem that sometimes the tear gas failed to bring down the perp?

Mace Pepper Spray and Mace Pepper Foam answered this question. The first products had the original tear gas but today they also had hot pepper mixed in, called oleoresin capsicum. OC is an inflammatory, not just an irritant. Capsicum causes eyes, nose, and throat to swell and burn. Throat swelling causes coughing and a constricting throat lowers the ability to breath well. The eyes swell thus shut and the bad guy cannot see. Blood vessels in the eye balls swell causing temporary blinding. Lose of sight can cause loss of balance and the lack of oxygen will slow the bad guys down.
